SEAL promotes undergraduate and graduate student engagement and development through co-curricular programs, including campus organizations, fraternities, sororities, leadership development, and civic engagement.

Recreation

The UCSB Department of Recreation serves our Gaucho community by cultivating well-being through their programs, services, and facilities. The Rec Cen includes two swimming pools, two gymnasia, weight rooms, squash courts, racquetball courts, climbing center, spa, pottery studio, classroom, and additional locker facilities.

Religious Life

There are places of worship for many denominations and faiths in UCSB’s surrounding communities of Isla Vista, Goleta, and Santa Barbara. Additionally, there are a variety of organizations created by students (which can be found in Shoreline) that focus on faith-based exploration and connections with other students.

Campus Sustainability

UCSB continues to excel as a leader in sustainability among higher education institutions. Home to one of the nation’s first Environmental Studies programs and the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management, UCSB has a long history of promoting sustainability, conducting environmental research, and encouraging resource conservation.
